Atkins Drink Suggestions?

Hey all,

I'm just curious if anyone has any low-carb drink suggestions, seeing as how I'm gettin sick of Jack/Diet Cokes on the weekends. Yes I know alcohol is bad on low-carb diets, yes I know it puts excess ketones in your bloodstream, thus making being in ketosis pointless for that day. But hey, im 21 and in college, and well parties happen 😀

I know tonic has carbs, but club soda doesnt... anybody know of anything that goes with club soda?

EDIT: And b4 I get the whole YAAT treatment, I figured I'd ask you guys instead of going on some stupid low-carb forum with 60-yr old housewifes. I'm assuming that makes sense to all the Atkins-bashers out there. 😀

Low carb beers - there are several now including the new rolling rock that has like 87 or 91 calories, can't remember which.

Vodka and a twist of lime?

I'm not sure if it's available in the US or not, but if it is, I highly recommend trying out Sleeman Clear. Only 2.5g of carbs and 90 calories per bottle... it's all I drink now. 🙂

you may as well drink water, it'll be cheaper and taste the same 😉

Have you tried it out yet?

I initially only bought a 12 pack, as I thought it was going to be watered down trash as well. Turns out it actually has some flavour too. My only complaint is that it's a bit pricey at $37.95 a case.

Yes, I have tried it and I did think it was watered down. Then again, I prefer dark beers such as stouts, and don't really like the domestics all that much.

Oh yeah ahaha silly canada you have to pay so much for beer. There are a few brands here that sell a 6 pack for $3 or $3.50 😀

That's because American domestics are absolutely terrible. Canadian domestics aren't superb but at least they taste like beer, not like water. What's worse, American domestics make "light" versions of their already watered down beer. Who the hell drinks garbage like Coors Light anyway?

True, but one of the lowend beers is natural ICE and it's got 5.X% alcohol and still about $.50/can!

Natty Ice?

PLEASE! I'd rather drink water from the sewer. 😛

Yeah, my prob is when it comes to beer I'm a stout person. Rock Green Light is like "hi, i want to drink water, but get drunk at the same time". Don't get me wrong, I drink it, but its not as satisfying as a mixed drink lol.

I've been doing Jack&Diet Vernors & diet 7&7's as well, but gettin sick of those. I'm just basically sticking to the tried & true, but with diet. So nobody knows anything that uses club soda that tastes good? lol.

The low carb Michelob beer is actually not that bad. It certainly doesn't leave any unpleasant tastes like Natty Ice, Coors light, or Beast. Much stouter than Rolling Rock, too.
