Atkins dieters: Are you still doing it and how is it going?

keep in mind those that are trying it or are thinking about it that eating lots of complete protein (animal sources) usually comes with lots of fats and over long periods of time that fat will clog and harden your arteries... I have to agree that the atkins diet is a good quick fix, but in the long run it'll kill you (literally).

anyways.. i have been on the atkins thing for the last eight months. i started at a good time because it was right before the craze hit and there are a lot of products out today that can make it easier.

i am 6'3" and i weighed in at about 275 when i started.. i am now at a much healthier 195.. hoping to lose another 15-20 pounds and then i will be happy..

i also run a good 2.5 miles a day... which probably has a significant amount to do with the weight i lost, but atkins gave me the motivation to keep it up. i also do not eat any more fat than i did when i was a fatass. actually, i think i eat less.

you do not HAVE to eat large amounts of unhealthy fat to be on atkins... there are ways around it.

i think the reason north american is so fat is because of sugary sodas.. if we did not have soda, or if everyone drank the wonderful diet soda known as diet rite.. we would all be better off 😀

Yeah, high fructose corn syrup is EVIL. Stay away from it if you can.

Splenda is about the best invention in artificial sweeteners out there...it tastes nearly identical to sugar. That helps me stay dieting 🙂

< Atkin's participant started in Oct.'03 @ 250 lbs..... Currently 190lbs @ 6'1".....
