atitool makes me lag randomly for few seconds in the games i play. i have a x1900xt, i was using atitools to control fan speed. Is there any other programs or is there a way i can tweak the fan settings without using atitools??

Are you sure it's ATI tool making you lag? Have you tried running your games without the program, and do you still get lag?

Also, is the fan control the only thing you have messed with, or have you overclocked a little too far?

only when i have atitool running its happens, its not lag or stutter....its like moon walking foward...my character move foward and i have no control over it. Happens even in counter strike. With atitool off that doesnt happen. I didnt overclock.....was using it to control the fan speed
i was using atitoll beta 14....maybe i will try beta16

That's really wierd... maybe it's because it's a beta? Maybe you should try installing an older versian, that's non-beta.

Yeah, ATI Tool sometimes does that. I had this version with no hiccups though.

If you only want to control fan speeds, I think RivaTuner is a good optional utility to use.

First, make sure you un-checked "Old IC2 Access Method" during installation (it ain't for X1K cards). Currently I assume it is installed, so, un-install it, and just re-install it to un-check that option.

Second, if you aren't over-clocking it via ATi Tray Tool and make sure you disable "ATT Shared Memory".

Try and see if it helps. If not I have no ideas why it does that.

Edit: Sorry, double post, stupid lag.

zenoth...are u talking about atitool or ati tray tool?

This applies to ati tray tools. It can also control fan speed, along with a bunch of other options, so you could try it instead of atitool.

i think ATI tray tools has completely replaced CCC and ATi Tool.

uninstall ATI CCC and ATi tool and install ATi Tray Tools v .955

it should work fine on your pc
