don't guess, work up 5mhz at a time, mem first, then back off at least 10 when you see artifacts, run something like rthdrible for a few hours at that setting, and if no artifacts/problems, you're set

There is no program like ATItool for Nvidia.
Atitool runs on nvidia cards. But, only "search for artifacts" works. It cannot control clock rates. So, it cannot automatically find max frequencies.

I too wish there was a program like ATi Tool for nVIDIA cards that automatically increments the core speed /memory speed and lowers the speeds accordingly when artifacts are detected. Just one program that I missed from switching from R350 to NV40 series.

Although nVIDIA Coolbits has a "detect frequency" option, I have found it to be quite inaccurate at times (sometimes, overclock is too high for the card to handle, or sets it at much lower speeds than the card can really handle).

Just do a manual oc in coolbits.
Ignore the auto-overclocking option, it sucks. I got all kinds of crazy shader issues and artifacting in HL2 with it. (Anybody care for a white gun?)
