I've been trying to find a decent review of this product - just saw some preliminary stuff someplace like hexus.

If anyone finds one please post a link. I'm sure they'll popping up all over the place soon.

Not sure on the dscaler, however I went ahead and ordered since my pvr-150mce has a screwed up mounting bracket.

Sure reviews will be out by the time I get it, but if anyone has specific questions after tues/wed ask.

Features:

* Theater? 550 PRO core
* MPEG-2 video encode support
* MPEG Audio Encoder with sampling rates of up to 48khz
* Dolby Digital 2 channel encoding
* Programmable filters
* NTSC/PAL
* Motion adaptive 3D Comb Filtering
* FM Radio
* World-Wide Audio Decoder
* 16MB DDR memory controller

This will be far from the best analog quality.....

Get something that encodes in MJPEG.....

It's a bit deceptive since the description on zipzoomfly keep saying "High Definition"..

Wrong, the Theater 550 PRO chip has hardware mpeg 2 encoding and best of all it has got a 12-bit Video decoder. This is sure to be one of the best Tv Tuners yet. Probably even Better than my poor Hauppage 250MCE :(

Nah, it'll most likely just be the best analog quality you can get from a tv card. The Hauppage cards are 10 bit vs this being 12 and the filter.

It's PCI and PCI-E, however the one for sale at newegg and zipzoomfly are PCI versions, could'nt find the PCI-E for sale yet.

So is this better than the Hauppauge PVR250?

I want a TV card mostly for PVR purposes and I have analog cable.

I might get this as I am looking to buy another Ultrasharp 19" which would require me to get a dual DVI video card and ditch my ATI AIW.

I hope they do a better job with the drivers for this card. I have one of the those ATI tv-wonder pci cards that has been retired to the junk box as the drivers never worked with any stability for me.

Rossman, on paper this should be one of if not the best analog capture cards out there.
I'm waiting for the reviews. I have a pvr-250 right now and am very happy with the quality in sage TV using the Dscaler5 codec (free too!) and/or NVDVD with ffdshow. I feel it's about as close to regular TVon my SDTV set as possible. Maybe if I had a HDTV it would look better.

anyways I'm waiting for some reviews, I wish Anand would get his hands on one!

This is PCI. I got really excited when I saw it because I thought it was the PCIe version. I'm pretty sure it's not though.
