ATI was running a Far Cry demo on 1280x1024 on medium details res and was still getting playable frame rates that went up even to 50 FPS. The 915G was not even close as it was running at some 10 to 15 FPS and it was not rendering the scene right.

Will they offer up a AMD version?

The RS400 is a Xpress 200G I believe.

There are supposed to be motherboards based on the Xpress 200 (and 200P which doesn't have onboard video) this month. That is a socket 939 & possibly 754 since they talk about Semprons in the specs.

This sounds awesome. Would make for some cheap kickass casual gamer PCs. More IGP solutions, the better.

If their description/data is accurate, then I believe it is a gen ahead. Notice the FPS reported for the FarCry demo in the Xpress200 review@TechReport Playing 21.2 fps average@640x480, and that with a A64 4000+, isn't even close to 12x10 med. detail with a peak of 50fps with this new Intel platform board.

I agree, this could be the basis of a very nice budget gamer if some of the board makers can offer it@the right pricepoint so that buying a non-IGP board and comparable vid card isn't more cost effective.

I believe the AMD version is RS480 (XPRESS 200P w/ integrated graphics, XPRESS 200 without),AMD64 939 and 754/ ATX and Micro ATX Link

Hopefully a partner will offer up a model with XPRESS 200p model with integrated Theater 550 chip :)

ATI's chip is nice but there probably won't be many retail motherboards. The motherboards for RS480 are almost all microATX.
