Not to quibble, but the Original Radeon was a very big deal! The move from Rage128 to Radeon core was a very big move and a drastic improvement. If you're going to talk revolutionary, the original Radeon DDR should be in that list!

Other than that, I agree completely. Refreshes bug me... it's no wonder average joe is completly clueless as to what's a good video card! There's no way for average joe to know that his GeForce2 Ultra is
*faster* than the spanky-new MX-420 or MX-440.
(Not picking on nVidia, ATI did the same thing (mostly) with the 8500/9000 scheme.)
You know... with the 9000 being a smaller, integrated core, I was always expecting the price to really come down... it never has. It's still CHEAPER to get the faster 8500LE! :disgust:
