ATI's new xFire connector

It's almost like Ati wants it to fail from the get go, maybe they are trying to get duel graphic card solutions a bad name.

It's definitely clunky, ugly and bulky. I don't like it either.

That said, it's not exactly the end of the world to have to run one of these. If I felt like running crossfire, I'd rather just put the stupid dongle in the back of my case than sit around and b!tch about it.

I still don't get why ATI went with something like this, though? Why ATI? Why God? Whyyyy???

ATi was on such a roll from the 9700 Pro to the 9800XT.

What the hell happened? Lately they've just been pushing out misfire after misfire, paper launching, and generally seeming wholly unorganized.

Maybe the ArtX team quit?

Are there any performance reviews out for it yet? If not when? I could care less about the connector. Although I guess I could care less about dual card setups because the practical use of it requires more money than I?m willing to spend, but I?d rather see the performance numbers than something like this as that?d be the determining factor, not an annoying flaw in another cable sticking out of my computer.
