atikmpag.sys keeps crashing during video games?

I keep getting game freezes that end up leading to BSODs after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay. I've uninstalled my drivers, removed their registry files with driver sweeper, and even went back to a far restore point. I've also tried sfc /scannow. What is wrong with my card or my drivers? I have AMD Radeon 6950 crossfired.

Does the problem persist if you disable Crossfire?

Try disabling cross fire, also a few drivers. Go back as far as 13 series.

Also if you video cards are overclocked try down clocking them to their factory frequency (google it). You can use MSI afterburner to clock down the cards.

Reseat both cards and the crossfire cable, just to be safe.

Also disable crossfire and try each card individually, one of them could be failing.
