ATI X800XT platinum for 549.95

Not a hot deal at all since this is over the MSRP and it can be had for cheaper than that, really. Nice try though. Besides, ATI's driver problems really make their cards less than desirable anymore.

So what if it's rare? That doesn't mean it's not over MSRP. The MSRP is $499...that hasn't changed just because the card is rare. Duh.

ATI really has no driver problems anymore the older video card did but not from 9700 and up, no way!

sounds like a nvidia person to me, personally I like boths cards nvidia and ati, both have thier ups and downs but ati has more bang for your buck, hands down! I'm a gamer, video editor, multimedia ect never had driver problems with ATI.

Wow, there ARE still people who do not have a clue about the drivers. Color me surprised.

I like how you call me an Nvidia person just because I said there are ATI driver problems. I happen to have a 9700 Pro, one of the cards you claim has no issues, and the card will not run stable on my system. Most notably with Call Of Duty. This issue has not been resolved at all. Do a search through these forums or any others, you pick one -- your choice -- and you will see that this problem is quite common. Sounds like your an ATI person to me.

Actually, sounds more like you don't know how to setup or configure a system to me....

No...read the post again if you're able to and check out the part about it being a common problem...search any forum you'd like...not that hard to do. Once again, this is a common problem that even ATI knows about but has not been able to fix or is unwilling to. Sounds more like you're either lazy or unable to read and/or both. If you need instructions on how to utilize a search function, I can assist you with that.

So because of just one game, you're saying ATI's drivers aren't on par with everyone else's? I have a 9700 pro and I've never played call of duty but I've had no problems with any of my games.

There was a problem with 3.8 & 3.9 and it was fixed in 3.10. 4.1 & 4.2, etc. If you've still got a problem with Call of Duty, it's your system and either a problem with fastwrites on, your install/setup of it, or heat in your system. So I guess I know more about the problem than you....

If you have the latest drivers, Call of Duty should work fine. I had the same problem playing CoD when it first came but after a few weeks the newer drivers fixed it.

I agree this is over MSRP. Wait a month and you should be able to get it at MSRP, if not lower.

Umm their driver problems were fixed way before the 9700 pro. They have been solid sine the 8500 series.

No, apparently you don't know more about the problem because it was not fixed. Once again, I advise you to search any forum of your choice for more on the issue. Setting AGP from 8x to 4x does keep the system stable, but I shouldn't have to do that. The 9700 Pro will not work at 8x. Funny you made no mention of that. So I guess I know more about the problem than you. Sounds like you make assumptions without properly informing yourself of the full details. Kind of like how our idiot president got us into the war/mess we're in.

Let's keep on topic, shall we? If we want news or politcal opinion, we all know where to look. Saying what I would like to say to you would only make me go off topic as well. :|

Exactly! It's your system / configuration. Glad we solved where the problem was...behind the keyboard.
