I was attempting to do that mod of my x800 to x800 PE and I was using the windows utility that is in most of those threads.
I hit load and there was a mismatch and so I did not think it worked. When I restarted my PC my video did not come up.
Soooo, how do I go back to reload my old bios??

If I have no video, even if I could boot to a floppy, and my mobo does not have video (abit av8)??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did take a copy of the bios before the flash.

But I can not get the PC to start, well I can't tell since the monitor does not come on.

So I can not see to do anything to put the old bios back on.

Thoughts?

The only thing I can think of is to use an old PCI graphics card, if you have one. I keep an old one around for this purpose. Otherwise, maybe you can make a boot floppy that uses a batch file to automatically load the old BIOS without user input...

Thanks for your help.

How do I do this process and what software do I use if I can not see my screen?

I may have a friend that has another agp card, but I don't think this will work right? I need a PCI one and can I put in an AGP at the same time?

My board is an Abit AV8 and it has only one AGP slot and a handful of PCI slots.

Thanks

Damn this is all you know and you decide to screw around with the BIOS of your video card??

Aaaaanyway...

As previously posted, you'll have to insert a PCI video card to get video working again (with the dead ATI card in the PC as well).. You may need to set the BIOS to init PCI video first..

Then once booted using the PCI card as your display..you hopefully would be able to at that point, flash the old bios back onto the ATI card...

Otherwise your screwed...
