Tiger lowered their price on the X700 Pro with 128 MB DDR3. It was $89 and is now $79.99. Yes this is the one with DDR 3. There is no tax outside of Florida and a couple of other small states. Shipping is reasonable ($4.99 to CA).

**Edit** Sold out.

There is the 256MB DDR3 still available for $99.99

is it worth it to get it from td? I guess there's no rebates, so it's probably ok, right?

what is this going for elsewhere? How does with compare with like the x600xt or x800?

thanks

i had a 128mb one before. its basically somewhere in between a 6600 nvidia and a 6600gt.

some games its equal to the 6600gt such as halflife 2, and some others mostly d3d stuff. it sucks in doom3 but well no one plays that (its about equal to a normal 6600 in doom3)

x800s tend to have 128mb as well, but i think they are clocked at 350 core 700 memory. the x800 would be faster probably a little bit, but they do cost mroe.

thanks for the info hans!

so you'd recommend it overall, right? (i'm not really a gamer, so I want something cheap -- just not so cheap i'll have to replace it in a year) :)

oh yeah definitely, for $79.99 i'd definitely recommend it.

i'm not much of a gamer either , but occasionally i'll play a game (x700 pro ran WoW fine)

if you were a hard core gamer you'd want a x800xl or 6800gt at least. But this should suffice for even occasional gamers which don't mind playing at lower settings, especially that it costs less then one third of x800xl and half of 6600GT. Heck, it costs about as much as a 6200 card, and is WAY faster.

P.S. if you were a true hard core gamer you would only consider the 7800GTX.

With no tax or rebates and low shipping you cant go wrong. If you're worried about performance a year down the road make sure to get this one (with DDR3) and not the $69 one with DDR1. The DDR3 makes a big difference especially with overclocking.

Dang, this is hot. I paid $108 for mine barely a month and a half ago. With a mild O/C framerates are close enough to a 6600GT. Here is another comparison of the 6600 vs 6600GT vs X700Pro.

This is one of those Connect3d cards that have an R at the end of the item number at TD. Item #: C261-3017 R. No clue if it's a white box or a refurb, the whole oonnect3d label is shady.

The two Connect3D cards (x850 XT PE PCI-E and 9800 Pro) I bought from TD had Rs at the end of the part number. Both were brand new in retail boxes.

Ya the x700Pro was made to fight off the 6600GT. If failed however. Still a good card for 80 bucks no rebates.

Nice misinformation. Connect 3d has been around for years and is a solid company.
"R" could stand for retail for all you know. Which isn't much obviously.

I bought 2 of the $69 X700 w/128MB DDR1 and they both have an "R" at the end of their item #. They were both retail and totaly new with seals intact. In fact the packaging looks exactly how it does in the description-

Next time you may want to have some information to back up what you say..........

hey guys, how does this card compare to the X800GT? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131420 ... price is almost twice as much, but is it worth it? that is about the limit i want to spend right now. figure i'll upgrade next year around the same price point, $150 or so.

what am i going to use it for? brand new AMD64 3000+ with PCIe + RAID 1 SATA + 1GB ram ... playing some games, maybe battlefield2 and a few others, nothing super hardcore and running at 1680x1050 on the desktop (dell 20" widescreen). thanks!

Don't get an X800GT, get an X800 for the same price. Even a 128MB X800 will blow a 256MB X800GT. But the 256MB versions are about the same price as the GT's so just get one of those. But don't get a GT.........
