ATI X1x00 2D\3D clocks

I ask because I alt-tab out of games a lot (WoW), and having the screenflicker\actions delayed while it switches from 3D speeds to 2D speeds is pretty annoying. I want to turn it off, but I'm not sure what to disable to make it stay at 3D speeds at all times. I'm guessing it's the ATI Hotkey poller?

Close both ati2evxx.exe and your clocks will disable 2D speeds . . .

Both? You shold only have one. Unless of course your system is slightly messed up....

I run my X1900XT @ 3D clocks 24/7. Of course, I'm overclocking with ATI Tool and I have a customized V1 Ultra cooler so at 725MHz, 1.425v I only idle at 40C (loads in the low 50's).

And another thing, only the X18 and X19 series of cards use 2d/3d clock speeds. The X13 and X16 cards do not. They run full speed 24/7.

It looks like your system is messed up then. Every forum I have read says there are 2 ati2xxxx to disable, and of coz my system has 2 also.

yep by default with there should be two ati2xxxx's... not one.

I also have 2. One is running as a system service, the other is under my username. Both are controlled by the hot key poller services, so if you disable it in the admin tools, it will disable both of those programs. However, disabling the service makes your card run at 2D clocks all lthe time, so you'll have to manually OC it to 3D clocks.
