My last 3 computers have been nVidia chipset with ATI GPU. I'm very pleased with the results.Originally posted by: ribbon13
I use ATi cards on nVidia chipsets all the time.

I was just wondering what your all's opinions were on which kind of video card to get. I originally was going to get the ATI x800 pro and flash it to the x800 xt, however, the NVIDIA 6800 gt has caught my eye too. Thanks.

6800gt is a better card for the money than an x800pro in almost all cases
You also must not be running the Lanpart nforce Ultra-D because you need at least 480wOriginally posted by: bluestrobe
Anything above 450 watts is a waste. Getting a 500 watt PS is like putting a big block engine into a medium sized truck, pointless and wasteful. With that setup, a 350-400 watt would be plentiful and "high" amperage on the 12v side of things isn't going to do any good other than boost your internet-ego and drain your budget. I've been running a 350watt PS for 3 years now with no power problems or failures. Still going strong.
x800xl > 6800gt
However I've always prefered ATI above Nvidia
