ATI TV Wonder emitting high pitched noise

I just got an ATI TV wonder VE, and the audio out is plugged into my soundcard's input.

Whenever I'm watching TV on my computer, there is a really high pitched (high frequency) noise that drives me insane.

If i turn the computer's overall treble down, the noise goes away.

Maybe I just have sensitive ears...

Has anyone else noticed this???

I have a different tv tuner and i get a background noise from all my speakers. It's annoying too. I think for it to work best with your speakers you need to hook the sound cable to the speakers or sound cable to the microphone port in your sound card.

That noise you are hearing is actually the broadcast itself. If you try playing with different channels you'll see that some channels have a higher pitched noise than others and some none at all. One of the methods my wife uses to reduce that noise is to lower the input volume from the tv as much as you can and raise the volume on your PC and your speakers.

jagr10, the reason the microphone port thing works is because your computer doesn't pick up that high frequency through the mic port. However, you'll lose stereo if you do that. If your TV tuner isn't stereo then it isn't a problem though.
