I have XP Pro, how do you get this thing to work? BTW is it possible to download the MMC 7.5 without the DVD Player?

Go to Rage3D and download the latest drivers for your ATI . I think you can download the MMC 7.5 no DVD
there too. Otherwise Ati's site should have it.

Ati doesn't have it and I get a link (from rage3d.com) to warp2search.net, which has it only with DVD.

The drivers on ATI's website will work. Upgrade your MMC to 7.5. Or better yet, just don't use ATI's software. Are you just watching TV or capturing? I guess for regular TV viewing, ATI's software is fine.

I want to watch TV. The damn software also doesn't see my Nvidia MX400 card during installation. What can I do?

I've finally got it to work. First off, uninstall all the ATI drivers and software you've installed. Then, despite which OS you have, install the WDM drivers from the CD. Next let the OS initiate the New Hardware wizard. Then, right click on My computer and go to Device Manager. Click on the WDM drivers and try to update the drivers. Windows should keep finding new hardware until you have:

* ATI TV Wonder BTCap, WDM Video Capture
* ATI TV Wonder TVTuner, Philips WDM TVTuner
* ATI TV Wonder WDM Audio Crossbar
* ATI TV Wonder WDM Video Crossbar
* ATI WDM Teletext Decoder

Next, go to C:\ATI\support\MMC_7_1_TVWONDER\MMC directory and install the software. Everything should be easy afterward. The software may give you some errors if you've got non-ATI video cards. Good Luck. BTW, don't forget to restart after each sessions.

How is your card working out for ya Rison?? I just got the same card this afternoon.. the quality while watching TV is crap.. but it could be because I haven't fine tuned everything yet and plus my cable signal may be bad having gone through a splitter..

The capturing quality is quite nice though. Note: if you capture using MPEG-2, you have to download a codec in order to get Windows Media to play it... even ATI's own MMC File Player won't be able to play it.. weird eh

The TV part is crap. You should get Dscaler. I'm also having problem with my TV listing software. ATI really reaks when it comes to drivers.

I got Dscaler actually.. and it's almost as bad. My audio doesn't work properly in Dscaler. You can sorta hear the audio but there's this big static sound that drowns out the audio

I only have regular TV so this isn't really a problem but I've noticed it myself. But after a while that static goes away.

Not weird actually, you need to install the DVD player even if you don't have a DVD drive, then the required MPEG-2 codecs will be installed on your computer for playback. MPEG-2 files will now play in the ATI file player. WMP or whatever you use.

If you use Dscaler with the TV Wonder you have to go into the audio settings (in Dscaler) and disable stereo sound. The TV Wonder does support stereo sound but Dscaler doesn't output it properly with this card. I know since I have been using the combo for quite some time. I wish the developers for Dscaler would fix this problem, but it is freeware so we really can't ask for much.

Yeah, ATI should hire these guys and fire their current developers. Dscale is the sh!t. Now, if only stereo would work. I wouldn't even mind paying for this program, provided it worked with stereo.

I didn't need dscaler...Initialy video looked like crap, especially during fast motion scene like sports...I installed direct x 8.0a and installed windows video update and picture was as good as the tv in the next room...

That install procedure you listed Rison is the recommended install I read awhile back when I updated to the mmc update before the 7.5. Nothing special..I am sure I read a readme file that gave instructions back then...
