So far I've had my tuner play for about 30 minutes w/o any crashing. This is opposed to my 10 minutes average I'd get w/ DX 7. I'm fairly convinced that ATI optimized the Multimedia Center to utilize DX 8.0

What multimedia center version are you using? I haven't noticed anything new at ATI for the TV Wonder and 98SE?

Its version 7.1 Larry Joe. I still have DX 7 and my tuner will run about a hour then the display freezes up but the audio continues on. I dont think DX 8 has anything to do with it Marauder. The video freeze up are being reported on systems with nvidia and 3dfx drivers. the TV wonder seeems to run fine in systems with ATI and Matrox video cards.

I get the same lock-ups with my ati tv wonder. Is it a known problem with 3dfx cards. I have a voodoo3 3000. I've got dx 8 and the NEW voodoo drivers 1.0.6 and the same thing.

edit: i've got ati player version 5.3

I'm not sure if there is a newer version or not. You can't download it, you have to order it from the ati website. I did anyways.

You might be wrong. Had my tuner going for 2 hours straight. This thing isn't crashing anymore. I am using a Creative Geforce 256, ATI TV Wonder, DX 8 and Win2k

Version 5.3? You sure? I think the earliest version that works with the TV Wonder was like 6.0? Then again, I could be wrong. You could try the 7.1 one the ATI website? Not sure if it's only for Win2k though.

I dont think that the TV wonder works fine with ATI video cards under win2k. I have a rage 128 and TV wonder running under win 2k with directX 7. I am using multimedia center version 7.1 but it still freezes up in 5 min, audio continues.
