ATI Tool

I keep hearing about how everyone finds their max oc speeds with ATITOOL.

Whenever i try to run the 'Find Max Core' my system will lock up when it gets to around 520mhz. Is it supposed to lock up like that? I havent heard anyone else having this problem before. The screen then goes black and displays scattered blocked colors.

My system specs are in my sig.

me when i was having my ati card, yes atitool was bugging my system, so i just used catalyst driver and decide to not install atitool

And finally got sick of ati adn bought a geforce 6800gt 😛

It's best not to use AtiTool to overclock...trust me. Just use RadClocker and raise your memory clock by 5Mhz increments until you see artifacting then drop it 10Mhz. Do the same with the core (the only difference is you won't see artifacting but your system will either freeze or drop you to the desktop). Happy overclocking!🙂

I love ATItool for helping me, but it does have it's bugs. If you can't use the MAX OC feature, you can at least use the scan artifacts with other OCing tools. The scan artifacts is the biggest help of ATItool.

The screen then goes black and displays scattered blocked colors.
If it does that again, immediately shut off your computer as quickly as possible. I would use the PSU switch on the back. No sense in frying your card.
