I have also read elsewhere @ stock speeds this HD4770 with DDR5 is about halfway in between the 4830 and 4850.

Supposedly it will have same bandwidth so it would be like overclocking the 4830 @ 750mhz. 10-15% faster. It's all PR BS before released. Take it with a grain of salt and wait for final release to get exact specs.

The current 4830 @ 575MHz competes decently with the 9800GT, right? I would imagine this card @ 750MHz should be a lot of performance for the money for sure then. I also wonder how well they'll overclock. Anyway, sounds like a really great part for $99.

So they tested prototypes in febuary.

The memory bandwidth lies inbetween those two.

Here is an engineering sample of RV740 clocked at 650MHz compared by guru3d
That review reveals that the RV740 @ 650MHz is roughly 85~90% of the HD4850 in terms of performance figures.
