Uncertified for 8500. :( Seems that the new drivers do not need you to uninstall and clear the register. Wonder if it holds true. :)

Waaaahhhhhh!

Wish they would work with the 8500, but I guess it's not DX9 compliant? Ohh well Cat2.5, and DX8.1 and me are doing just fine with games right now anyway.

Installing Direct X 9 broke 3dMark2001SE for me, anyone else have that? It wants ver. 8.1

Games still seem to run well though although I swear I've gotten gradual performance losses when I benchmark Serious Sam 2 from Catalyst 2.3 to 2.4 to 2.5 and now 3.0 Oh well.. new drivers can't really be a bad thing right?

Well, these demos, especially the bear look absolutely gorgeous. I haven't tried OpenGL games yet, but D3D is running fine post-3.0!

3.0's didn't help me, I still have the infamous stuttering problem. I'm about ready to chuck this 9700 pro for a 4600.

my question is has anyone had problems with the 3.0 drivers and the VIA hyperion(4.45) AGP miniport driver for win XP?

acutaly i had to get the hyperion drivers to help some momentary hanging in cs that happend with the dx9 and the 3.0 drivers. it still hangs in cs every now and again and for just a second, seems to be somewhat related to my soundblaster as it always sticks on a sound.

Yea, the Soundblaster is known to cause that problem, but if it does not bother you, then just keep it....

Back to Catalyst:

I think this version is worth it just for the DX9 Demos/Screensavers alone.
