no matter what, if they want to sell any products in Denmark they will have to give a 2 year warranty.

Yes, but those are third party cards not actually produced by nVidia themselves. So they can offer any warranty they want. The only way you can get a card produced by nVidia is as an OEM. And isn't a standard OEM warranty around 1 year?

Wow. Well, I guess if the card works after a year, it works. But still...

In Norway we have a minimum of 2 years warranty by law, and for stuff that is supposed to last longer (such as PC hardware, TVs etc.), there is a 5 year warranty. So I am feeling safe anyway :p

Nvidia does not sell any card themselves they just suply the cores, give manufacturers their reference design, and recommend a source of memory. Their has been rumors that EVGA might be more then just a customer for them, but thats just a rumor. Though if it was true then it would mean that Nvidia cards are also Lifetime.

How the heck can they force a warrantee on something in Norway or Denmark for more then the manufacturer has anywhere else? What happenes if you buy it from another country and had it shipped to your residence? You guy over there must have a very poor selection of electronics or the prices are insane, becuase there is no way of forcing places like Taiwan or Korea to take back their sucky cheapo TV 5 years later. It does suck that manufacturers are switching to 1 year. I personally will buy a product with a 5 year or lifetime warrantee even if the price is more. I already switched over from Maxtor to WD or Seagate in my store because most Maxtors are 1 year now. I've been a loyal ATI fan for years but if they switch to 1 year also, I'll be done with them also.

If I were to buy from eg. UK (which is close and natural) I won't be getting 5 years. But we do not have a bad selection, and when compared to our average wages electronics are about as cheap as they get in Europe. We are just lucky, thats all. It is not legal to NOT get these warranties, so if my TV gets broken after 4,9 years, and that TV is no longer in production I am entitled to a new one unless the shop can show that I caused the TV to fail.

Also, now that we are on the subject: We also have the right to return any product we buy online within 14 days if we are not happy with it, and we can return it in kind of the same condition we received it in (which includes having used a piece of computer hardware). We do have to pay for the shipping though.

Consumers have it pretty sweet in Norway i'd say.

This makes me wonder what the OC version of x1800xt will be clocked at when OEM release them from the OC 7800 GTX we can see that they are willing we also know for a fact the ram on x1800xt is maxed at 1600 even though at stock it will be 1400. Thats alot of head room on ram.

Why? Are you having problems? If you want a longer warranty than the 1 year ATi is now offering, simply purchase an ATI based card from Visiontek (lifetime), ASUS (3 years), Gigabyte (3 years), Powercolor (2 years), Connect3D (2 years), etc...

It DOES rather sound like something associated with people serving 2 life sentences though, doesn't it? :)

Glad I got in under the 3 year window. Of course as soon as I put on an after market cooler, no warranty. Also many 3 year old cards are not worth the cost of shipping. As for life time, would be nice to see someone try to collect after 10 years.

Most people don't buy the BBA ATI boards anways... they buy the MSI or PowerColor or whatever partner brands. Many of those companies make both nVidia and ATI products so most of those companies will have the same warranty on their ATI and nVidia boards.

Yea...my BFG 5200 definitely wasn't worth the shipping, I did the advanced replacement and that cost $15 and then $2 for drop off for the card.
