no there wont be, the x850 is pci-e only....so far. all you need to do is a buy a x800 agp then overclock it and you have a x850.

I don't think you're going to OC the X800s to X850 speeds. :p

I doubt there will be a high end AGP card released again either, its going to be PCIe from here on out. :(

 its only like 20 or something MHz. not that hard. buy a x800, overclock to x850 speeds and then rename it :D

Same difference. X800XTPE = 520/560, X850XTPE = 540/590 (IIRC). Whee!

There is only a 10 percent increase in speed. And they are also going to squeeze in an X850 Pro and X850 XT in between the X800 XT PE and X850 XT PE.

Personally i dont know why poeple care if they make pci-e video cards from now on. If your gonna end up upgrading your gonna buy a new motherboard anyway. I mean im stuck with the x800 xt being the best card that will fit in my computer so i know that will last more then 2 years which is when i buy a new computer. Im getting my video card next week which it might be the x800 pro becuase theres no xt's anywhere!
The x850 wont fit for 2 reasons, 1.My computer is agp 2. I own a shuttle sn95g5 which theres no way that card will fit in that thing. I have no worryies becuase pro and xt will last me the 2 years before i buy a new computer. Hell iv been using a radeon 8500 128 le for the last 2 years and 3 months tell i got my new computer. Had it for 3 weeks now with the 8500 inside it becuase my card hasnt arrived yet : (
REALLY MAD! feels like i wasted money buying this computer and getting screwed on video card.

Athlon 64 3500
1g corsair
74 gig raptor
radeon 8500 - soon x800 pro (i hope xt)

I don't plan on buying a new Mobo. I'm gonna buy a new computer at the end of 2005. Also let snto forget that video cards are getting much faster at a much faster rate. And a new one will keep coming out every 6 - 10 months.

And BTW, Is my P4 3.0GHz HT enought CPU for the X800 XT PE?

So get an X800XT PE; it's barely slower than the X850 XT.

Yes and no. It will suit the X800XT PE fine and give you great fps but even better would be a 3000+ Athlon64 CPU or above. A P4 3.0 is still very good though.
