It was a hot deal. They are now out because of all the orders. The guy I typed to this morning said, 'those sure are popular today". The order site was swapped and misbehaving because of it from what I saw. Geez, everything has to be a conspiracy. :disgust:

NEVER was a hot deal . . . evidently ALL the orders are cancelled (and it takes up to 10 days to get the 'hold' off your CC).

Check the complaints in Hot deals in that same thread . . .

Gateway is a BIG "No-NO" for me. 😛

(i should have know from their ridiculously low reseller rating) 😱

never again. 😉

"I wonder what this slide at the ATI press show at computex is all about?"

I believe that the photo is of two (2) of the same card type. Manufacturers and resellers often do this for advertisement purposes, often with a disclaimer something like "actual product may vary in appearance".

As far as the specs go, I read a review of the PCI Express version of the X800 XT on the "Beyond3D" web site (www.beyond3d.com). The review had benchmarks of the X800 Pro (AGP), X800 XT PE (AGP), and the X800 XT (PCI Express). The review stated that the PCI Express version of the X800 XT runs at 500Mhz GPU clock and the memory clock is 1Ghz. Other than that the interface (PCI Express versus AGP) seemed to be the only difference.

Here's the "link" to the X800 XT PCI Express review at Beyond3D.com:

Also, I saw an item listed on Ebay last week for a " NEW ATI Radeon x800 xt PE - PCI Express" video card (OEM). Heres' the link to the listing:

Most likely because this thread is from TWO MONTHS AGO, and a new member just bumped it to the top of GH today. Deal is long, long dead.

I would love to get the X800 XT Pro PE, but it's just too expensive right now. I may wait a while for the prices to lower or may just get the X800, which is about $100 less. The X800 is faster than the Radeon 9800 Pro XT, although its obviously not as fast X800 XT Pro PE. Decisions decisions. 😕

And quite a bit slower than a 6800 GT... and A LOT slower than a 6800 GT @ Ultra speeds..

😛

And i love Ati, they just don't have it this set of cards..

🙂
