Hey I want to get the ATI radeon x800 XL to get to the frame rate per second describe in the Anandtech WoW guide.

-First question : What is the differences between all of those brand( Sapphire, Powercolor, etc)?

I know that most of the price in the US site are something like ~ 285 US$
Since I am canadian, I have check out tigerdirect.ca

I have found a powercolor that is for 329 Canadian$, 265 US$
Powercolor Radeon X800 XL / 256MB GDDR3 / PCI Express / Dual DVI / VIVO / Video CardPower color radeon x800 XL

Also, I have found this card, Sapphire Radeon X800 / 256MB GDDR3 / PCI Express / DVI / TV Out / Video Card Sapphire radeon x800
.
FOR 234 CANADIAN$, 190 US$!! This price is too good to be true( litteraly).

-Second question : So I think there must be some kind of differences between these two. Anyone care to explain me?( Will I get the same Frame rate? Is there any good reason to pay 100 buck more for the Powercolor?)

Thanks!

The x800 is but a striped down x800 Pro. The x800XL > x800 Pro > x800.
It's not too good to be true, TigerDirect will slaughter you with "Shipping and Handling" fees.
The x800XL will give you a *very* solid performance increase over the x800 due to it having four extra pixel pipelines.

First of all look at the specs..

That Powercolor model has the following major extras compared with the Saphire

1. DUAL DVI compared with Single DVI
2. VIVO compared with only TV-out
3. XL compared with nothing

Now if the saphire version is really X800 and not X800XL, then ur wasting ur money, it only gives u 8 pipelines and lower performance compared to the much faster XL.

The powercolor model is an excellent bargain honestly, ur getting VIVO which is a really nice feature to have plus Dual DVI. However i dunno if they'll scew u for tax and shipping but $ 285 is a good deal.

But wait a second, i spotted a Leadtek 6800GT with its supersize cooler for $ 280 at newegg.com

The PCI-E version is like $ 350. U might want to look at the 6800GT its better than ur X800XL and full 16 pipelines.

I'm canadian too, everyone quoting newegg prices gets old quickly, if you buy from monarch you can do the shipping with no custom charges except it will take 3-4 weeks to get here

and yeah only the x800se has 8 pipelines

Get the Saphhire one, it shouldnt give u any problems....X800 Vanilla is xcellent for under $200 while the X800XL is good for sub $300...depends what u want to get..if ur getting AGP get the 6800GT for under $300 otherwise get the XL.

Oh you are right, it is in us$. Lol I though Tigerdirect was canada exclusive.

Anyhow, if I get any name( sapphire, Powercolor) that has x800 xl, I guess I will be ok?
Oh and tigerdirect price sucks I just realise lol.

Any Canadian care to tell where they buy their hardware?

If your in Canada like I am, I would recommend shopping at these sites:

1)ncix.com - great service
2)monarchcomputer.com - ships to canada cheap
3)anitec.ca - good, but limited variety

BTW, this is a little off topic, but I am curious as to how the x850 Pro stacks up to the x800xl. Does anyone have any info on the performance of this card and/or the overlockign potential on it?

Thanks
