Great deal on an excellent card! Superb for Half-life 2. I'd get it if i had PCI-express 😉
 
I believe the 6600 outperforms in some categories, doesn't it?

Current and previous generation OpenGL titles do show the Radeon X700 XT lagging the NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT. So what's the better deal? x700 for $173 or the 6600GT for $220? What's the better bang for the buck? I'm guessing the x700 for now, until the 6600GT hits the under $200 price point.

Oops. Never mind. Misread the review from AT. Was thinking Pro when it clearly said XT.

Well, if it is a X700XT then the performance is very close to 6600gt. Now, this is a x700 pro, so it is 10~15% lower.
 
I would have bought this card if it was available a couple of weeks ago. I got the XFX 6600GT from monarch for $178 shipped instead.

MadCowDisease: Yeah, the 6600GT is faster than the x700 Pro. But the difference isn't huge. I would have gladly traded 256MB for the slightly slower peformance. It comes in handy at high resolution in some games.
 
It's nice to see a 256MB video card for this price with nice performance. I'd take this over a 6600GT for now as you get almost the same performance + or - in certain games and you get 256MB over 128MB of ram. 😉
