how does this compare to the pny 7900gs at best buy, granted the pny is pci-e while this has double the ram (albeit in AGP), i don't know much else about the numbering schemes and how they compare...
thanks for any advice folks can offer...

So maybe off topic but I currently have a x850xt agp 256meg ram that is ddr3. would the 1600pro show a sizable difference or should i just wait for dx10 cards and go pci-e in a year?

Your X850XT would walk all over the 1600Pro, more ram or not. I love ATI's cards but the X1600 PRO and XT's are horrible. You are much better off trying to score one of the EvGA7600 GT's (PCIE) that will be $89 at CC on BF. You can get a nice NF4 PCIE board for cheap these days.

LOL yea most comparisons leave off the x850xt so its always hard to tell. I guess it wasnt the 1600pro but the 1900pro thats eventually supposed to come out in the agp variety?
