Have any of you tested out the new beta drivers? I would, but I can't even try as I am still waiting for newegg.com to straighten out their mess. Aye carumbah, 13.67MB!!, isn't that a bit.. excessive for a driver?
New Drivers beta - 7140's for Win98 and new beta drivers for W2k (forget what version). Anyhow, the best spot to get them is 3dfiles.com or www.rage3d.com
I have tried the 7140's which have better visual quality in 2d and 3d (games) then the previous drivers).
I pretty much always use the beta drivers. For the most part they are a improvement and it takes a while for ATi to make them the official driver. The "special purpose" ones are okay but for so long it was the 3056's as the official win98 driver and those were old and crap they were the same as the cd ones.
edit: The win98 ones are 14mb? Damn I was looking at the newest win2k one and it was 6 or 7mb like most of the other win2k ones.
