ati radeon a-i-w and video capture

does anyone know for sure if this card will allow video capture from a Hi-8 camcorder and edit into MPEG-2, and then export to a CD-R?
thanks. If not, any reasonably-priced alternatives?

Yes, the AIW does capture in MPEG-2, editing depends on the software you use and exporting to CD-R is solely dependant on the CD-R drive. Keep in mind that capturing in MPEG-2 creates a very large file, 6-15 mb per second depending on the quality you choose.

yeah..u will probably have to record short movies on ur cd's. And putting the Mpeg-2 on cd depends on ur cd-r software, i recommend Nero

Does anyone know how the Radeon AIW compares with the G400 Marvel, as far as video capture goes?

I've been thru pretty much every video capture capable video card, and My AIW Radeon is my favorite so far. Its true AIT cards can be a little problematic to install at times, but it is worth it
