I had just built a new comp... everything runs great...

Corsair DDR400 PC3200 512MBs RAM
ASUS P4S800
P4 3.2Ghz w/HyperThreading
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MBs
80 Gig Maxtor Harddrive 7200RPM

The problem is: When I run the demo of Unreal Tournament 2004, I can play for a little bit (10-15 minutes) then the screen goes black and the monitor power button starts flashing. I try CTRL+ALT+DELETE and I still get no response. I have to reboot and everything is fine again. In Windows and everything else it runs extremely smooth with no problems. I have all of the right drivers for my hardware. I have no idea what's going on here. I have the graphics aperature size set to 128MBs. Please someone help. Thanks... Matt

What power supply are you using, and how is the ventilation on your system? If you haven't tried this yet, try opening the case and maybe positioning a fan to blow in the side, just to test whether heat is playing a part in your problems.

Welcome to the forums CHiM721, hope it works out for you :)

also...is VPU Recover enabled in the advanced settings? If not, enable it. If it is enabled, I would try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the Cat 4.2 drivers.

Also, as mentioned above...a new psu would be a good idea.

I agree with mechBgon on this one,btw Unreal Tournament 2004 demo runs fine with the 4.2 drivers,I also have my AGP aperture size set to 128mb.

I have a 450Watt PSU. I tried turning off AGP Fast Writes in BIOS. I played Unreal Tournament 2004 for a little bit and didn't seem to have a problem. I didn't really get to try it out for more than 10 minutes though. I wonder if that would be the issue. I aslo have VPU enabled. Is there any way I can check the errors through that.

What brand is the 450W PSU? I'm trying to find out whether it's good-quality wattage, not how much wattage :)

I'll check when I get back home later around 2AM... but it came with the case and it's probably a Fisher Price PSU...

What about your power management options? It sounds to me like the computer just thinks nothing's using the monitor while the game's running, and after a while it stops sending a signal. That's something easy to check out before you go troubleshooting hardware.
