Ati radeon 9770 and agpx4

Hi i have a quick question and ain't a wiz in computer. I've just bought a p4 2.4ghz with the motherboard gigabyte GA9PE667 and of course an ati radeon 9700. I saw in the box that the motherboard was agp4x but the ati card as agp8x......will the card be less powerful with the agp4x???

I'm a little confuse and don't know if i have to be mad at my vendor aor not.....i wil await your answer before calling him..n oh i hva also ddr memory 512m 333mhz pc2700 an winxp

Your radeon card won't run slower, you've got nothing to woryy about. The reason is that as of now, there is really no application (game or any other) that can fully utilize the bandwidth provided by 8x AGP (or AGP version 3). Heck there isn't any that fully uses the bandwidth provided by 4x AGP! As of now, 8x AGP is nothing more than just a marketing feature on motherboards. You needn't worry about lower performance.
