Damn Generals game!

generals is 100% cpu intensive, not graphic card intensive. I've played it with my rig with both a Radeon 9000 and Radeon 9700 and they both performed flawlessly. Not to mention in quickmatch you can only play at 800x600. Still, good deal for those looking for the 9700pro in the cheap!

Just thought I'd mention a related situation. My brother plays WC3 and until I gave him my computer a few months ago, it went like 5 frames a second on a P4/GF2MX. Now with an Athlon 1200/GF2MX, it runs about 20 FPS.

Woot!!! I got in on this one very very last minute! 😛

To make a very long and funny story shorter here it is:
I started calling all the GameStop and Software Etc. with in 50 miles. After 5 of them I just give up and started asking not if they have any in stock but if they would print me off a price sticker, throw it on a business card and I'd go out and see if I'd get lucky. So one of them says yeah sure. I go down he prints it out I tell him, I doubt I'll get in on this because BB and CC are just going to say if not in stock sorry no PM. He tells me well there is this one 9700 Pro I know of that is on hold for an employee up at this other store. I'm like sweet my lucky day! So I call the store talk to the manager he thinks I'm the one who has it on hold since I know about it, I'm like no but if I get BB or CC to call you to PM this you do have one technically in stock right?, he's like sure no prob.
I get down to my local BB. I get the card show her the price sticker she is like sure no rebates right I'm thinking yeah. Hello do you think I would of wasted all this time for nothing. Ok she calls the store asks if they have any in stock the kid there is like nope hangs up. I'm like uh no no no l just talked to them 30min ago. I am being very polite during this time. I tell her I just talked to the manger 30mins ago I ask her to call one more time pretty please. (flirting) 🙂 She gives in tells the kid I have this guy hear blah blah... kid goes to look for it hangs ups I get her to call again (pushing my luck now) the kid cant find it and the manager isn?t hear she hangs up and she says I am sorry sir 🙁 (arg!!!!) I'm like got a phone I'll call the kid I know it is there your manager probably hid it some where. (This is the last one in the whole state for cry'n out loud) I'm going to get her to call you back again find it please. I go back to her I am like uh he is looking try him one more time please. blah blah the kid finds the dang card or is just sick of her calling and tells her he found it and 30mins later I back home playing with my new shining 9700 Pro!!!

You think this is long story well your right but truth is it is even longer and funnier but whos got the time.

Sorry I just wanted to say also since this card is getting picked tomorrow I am the last one in the state to get this deal hahahah! (feels good)

Well that is until ATI drops the price another $100 next week 🙁 Oh wait 30-day price guarantee right? hehe (Can you dont that twice and mean PM?)

Did you manage to damage the wall in return at all? Walls have a big advantage in tensile strength but we humans outmatch them in terms of brain power.

I just bought the only one at Gamestop here in Mankato. I got BB to price match it but they wouldnt let me have my 10% memorial weekend coupon so I went to Gamestop and bought it. I would rather gamestop get the money because they at least let me bring back the crapppy games after they are open.

The REAL trick to this deal is if we can return the 9700 Pro within the 30 days alotted for the 9800 Pro and get a good deal out of it...doesn't look likely but I'm still being watchful :-]
