Retail branded. The closest thing I could find was a bulk Sapphire one at Newegg for about $106 shipped. I think the ATI build and I think longer warranty, might be worth the extra 5-10 to get the ATI built one.

I am actually in the market for a video card, and a 9600 pro wouldn't be that bad a choice. However, does anyone know if there will be any hot deals on Black Friday for video cards in this performance range?
 
no, that's why I stepped up and bought this.

There's two being offered by compusa on BF, but a little more than I wanted to spend for my 2D apps. I think one was an AIW for $125 AR, and the other might be a 6800np for $200, IIRC.

Don't quote me on that. I looked over the BF offerings over the weekend, and only found 2 cards, so ordered this today.
 
Remember, BBY had the ATI Radeon 9600 last year. I'm still using it... I'm hoping they have a higher end card this year but 100 beans isn't a bad price.
 
I have both 9600XT and the AIW9600XT and find the AIW version to be better for UT2004. I don't like the fact that there is no DVI on the AIW version and it requires ATi's dongle. So if you go after the AIW at Newegg refurbished side you'll need to purchase the dongle from ATi to use the card.
