Hi: I have an HP Pavillion a6507c PC that came with an onboard Intel GMA 950 video.

I have an ATI Radeon 9200SE and an nVidia GeForce 6200LE - both 128MB and both PCI.

I'm running VISTA Home premium.

I'm not sure which is the best card. I guess the PCI is better than the onboard as they have their own memory. Right? The nVidia is newer - but I don't know that much about it all. The nVidia has a fan whose sound is noticeable when the PC is running. The ATI has no fan. I presume the nVidia will use more power because of the fan...or will it use less as it will run cooler and the PC fan won't be needed as much?

Any advice on which is best to use? I'm not a gamer but do do some video editing. I know there are much better cards out there - but just want to use the best of the ones I have.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks for the response. The cards are both PCI-E. I'm not looking to buy a new card. Just trying to figure out which is the best of the 3 I have.

Thanks,

Dave

If it HAS to be between them,i'd take the GeForce 6200,though seriously,if you have a PCI-E x16 slot like you said you could, you can do MUCH better.

Thanks for the input. I figured there's alot better units out there. I think I'll first invest in an LCD monitor as I currently have a CRT!!! - and then look at a video card upgrade.
