ATI Radeon 8500 Compatibility probs?

I've heard ATI cards have problems with certain motherboards (even my motherboard says "most ATI cards" have compatibility problems with the motherboard). Do you think this will be a problem with this card? The price is definitely making me consider getting this card...

Damn, sorry to tell you this, but that mobo looks to be a real POS... 😀

Sugadaddy,

the K7-830LM is the exact same board as ECS k7S5A , even the bios from the ECS can be flashed to it.

I am running an Ati Radeon on my ECS board & i dont see any incompatibilities.😉

Its a good board, exactly the same as the ECS K7S5A... I guess the data on the page is wrong though, well not really, I think the key word is "MAY be incompatible". Maybe some customers complained about problems or something, shrug. Just wanted to know whether it was true or not, and since someone said he was using a Radeon in the K7S5A, guess it can't all be true 😛

Are you sure it's the EXACT same thing?

Even if the design is exactly the same, they could use cheaper components to make them...

Anyways, I try to buy the most reliable stuff, so I'd never even think about getting a mobo that says on its own site that it may have problems with 75% of the video cards out there...

I think your thread is a bit misleading. Your motherboard is the one that is having issues with various type of videocards.
