ATI Radeon 8500 64MB, need your help -movie problem

Got two problems with my ATI Radeon 8500 64MB:

DVD and AVI movie window appears black on TV. I can see my desktop and all on my TV but movies appear as a black window, at the same time it looks fine on my monitor showing the movie in corresponding window. What do I do wrong, how do I get it working?

And I get jerky DVD playback, but AVI movies run just fine from hdd. What could that be?

I?m running out of ideas.. I've had the card for a week so I'm not to familiar with it yet -trying to learn..

My system:
Asus A7V133
AMD 1.4GHz Athlon T-bird
256 MB PC133 memory
ATI Radeon 8500 64MB DDR
60GB Seagate Barracuda
Soundblaster PCI 128

Oh, and I'm using the short s-video to yellow TV cable converter that goes to the scart thingy adapter on my TV.. ehh hope you get the picture, all that stuff came with the card..

Hmm, have no idea, how do I check that in win xp?
During some of the ati installations I got a warning that was suggested might have to do with dma not enabled on my hdd!? I didn't bother looking into it cause I have no clue where to start..
Must say I feel a bit lost..

What drivers are you using? I had a similar problem with my Radeon 7000 a couple years back...I forget how I resolved it tho. I think it had something to do with the hydravision. As far as I know the latest catalysts from ati resolved alot of hydravision issues. Good luck.

Oh, and to enable DMA:

Right click my computer - properties - hardware - device manager - primary/secondary ide channel - enable dma (it's on one of the tabs)
