I want any advice you can give me about which of these two cards are better. (The ATI radeon 64 mb ddr or the pny geforce3 pro 64 mb ddr) I would be using it with my 1.4 ghz 266 fsb amd t-bird system. I heard the ATI is faster and as good or better than the GeForce 2 (or is that the most basic model of the geforce series?) Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

No the ATI in most cases is not faster than the GF2pro. The GF2pro is about sheer gaming performance, but poor 2D generally.

While ATI does not perform as good as the GF2pro, but it performs at a more than decent level, just not as fast as the GF2pro (both are close).
And ATI have better 2D and DVD playback quality.

On the driver side, Nv have better win2k driver than ATI.

If you're going to get a geforce2 pro, I recommend the gainward geforce2 pro, I have a gainward geforce3 and after reading anandtech's reviews, tweak3d and other sites all giving it a rating of 9.0 or highly I decided to give this company a try and it's great. I've seen PNY for a long time but never really brought their stuff because I remember their memory was always overpriced, I decided to try a PNY product such as their 80mincdrw cdrw, when it came, the cdrw did say 80min cdrw on each cd, but when I tried it, it was only 650MB 74mins and the cds weren't even formatted, whose's to blame, I won't say buy.com is at fault because the cdrw clearly states 80mins, and so does the PNY website, I tried to call tem once but got a answer machine, and I knew fat chance they might call back. Gainward has been in the videocard business longer, so go with the company wih more experience.
