The only thing that makes me mad with Nvidia is that their cards are overpriced for what you get. Yes, I think they are better quality than ATI cards, but Nvidia doesn't know how to do Anisotropic filtering or Antialiasing nearly as well as ATI. So I'm kind of mixed in feelings right now.

Nvidia due to thier cool drivers, USA company, better compatabity with nForce chipset, past superior overclcokablity and "digital vibrance" feature. All things being equal I would buy nVidia.

Chipset? That's motherboard territory which means this thread should be locked.

ditto, and if both offer an equal value, i perfer ATi (brand loyality)

You prefer brand loyalty when you can't even spell it! ;)

working on a 30 page paper worth 100% of my grade in one of my classes, i'm saving all the good stuff for the paper ;)

I have ATI right now, but the future is still uknown to the new VPUs. Just wait for them. The stupidest thing you could do is be loyal to a company.

Already it seems that the new Nvidia cards are faster with optimized trilinear and if they new official driver releases with a performance impact, then Nvidia will have won the performance crown. I don't think anything's gonna happen to ATI like that unless they the app. takes advantage of the new features and that wont be for a while, and might only be for IQ purposes, not speed. But in any case, ATI might end up winning in sales again because it will still have decent speed, a touch better IQ, and the third most important item - price.

I prefer Nvidia, but don't get me wrong - both companies make outstanding cards. I'd buy whichever I could get the best deal on.
