So I bought this card about 2 weeks ago...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814127329

I also got a 42" inch 1080p HP TV that I wanted to setup as my monitor.

Hooking it up there is extreme overscaling (1920x1080). (picture displayed is to large for monitor)

Nvida for the past year has not released any drivers at all to help fix this. There are reg hacks but they only for until ya play a game.

ATI's drivers would make it work just fine.

The thing is the 8800 GT I have is amazing. What ATI card would give me similar performance that you all would suggest?

Well, a 3870 would give you almost the same performance (maybe -10%) for ~$190.

But seriously, where's rollo, he could answer your question just by reading the topic title 😛

Isn't that an issue w/ the TV? I have a 42" Plasma that has two size settings. One is overscan with about 95% of the content on screen, the other is 100% content on the screen (when using 1080P).

Have you looked at Power Strip? I think it has settings to resolve overscan. Though I do not know if it is only for the desktop.

If you use the latest driver & the nvidia control panel, you have options for custom resolutions on the secondary display in dualview or clone mode.

Power strip didn't work out to well and the custom resolution, whenever setting one, it didn't work. :/
