Decent Deal?

I have the 64MB version of this card and it rocks. 250/200 sounds like a typo though, since these are normally clocked at 250/250. Decent deal.

i hear with these 3rd party ati cards... the mem clocks speeds are a toss up. so i was not go buing this card expecting 250/200 to be a typo. just an fyi.

Mine's built by ATI...I wouldn't buy an ATI card built by anyone other than ATI. I never even looked at the link, so I just assumed that this was a built by ATI card. Guess not.

I bought the Saphire Radeon 8500 LE 128mb from newegg. I was getting slower 3dmark2001se 3d marks than I expected. I did some snooping around. It turns out that my vidy card has slower Sammy video ram than some of the other 8500 options. So beware, not all 8500LE cards are created equal!

i'm actually thinkin of buying this card (ATI OEM RADEON 8500 LE 128MB DDR DVI/CRT/TV @ NewEgg for $88) .. anyone got any fyi's or feedbacks about it?

Right now i have a Geforce 4 MX40 64MB DDR, and i need something that'll play splinter cell/u2/ut2003 smoothly (smooth enuff to make my gamin expierence happy..) what are your guys comments about it??

reply back fast 😀

+thnx

Is this card solid? I just thinking of dumping my Matrox G450....as it is not any stable at all now..... I don't want a GeForce MX.... but a Ti would be too expensive for me....so I am looking at this 8500LE card...

Any other suggestions? Can I connect a CRT and a DVI LCD to this card and go dual display?

At the top of the page, it says

Make: ATI

Without calling to be 101% certain, I'd have to say it's a card made by ATI (versus just an ATI chip, with the card made by someone else).

I'm not a video card junkie...so how would this card compare to a radeon 7200 (I understand it would be better)? Is it worth the upgrade for $88? Or is there something better for under $100?

If you want faster speeds, just get the Sapphire 9100 64mb or 8500LE 64mb, they're both around $72 @ newegg and clocked at 250/230.

I'm guessing these cards are made by Sapphire and not ATI. You can identify what kind of card it is (Built by or just Power by) by doing some research here. I bought a FIC Radeon 8500LE 64mb, but learned that b/c my pn# has 1002 in it, it's actually built by ATI. After checking powerstrip, I confirmed the 250/250.

It's definiltely a good upgrade if you don't want to spend too much and you'd like to start playing some more 3D intense games. If you don't game, just save your money.

even though saphire has a faster clock speed, i've herd many negative feedbacks about Saphire's ati card. some people didnt get them to work, or to work functionaly...

any thoughts on this?

I think it's fine. Even newegg buyers ratings are good for it. I just got my friend a sapphire 8500le 64mb (250/230) so he could play battlefield 19-something....cool game btw. Along with his weak little Duron 900, that games runs fine now. I'd take that or the Powercolor 9100 64mb for $72 anyday. Such a bargain price for a great card.

from the picture, it's definitely not built by ATI. Built by ATI cards (for 128mb versions) uses BGA RAM packaging on their DDR RAM, so the TSOP packaging gives that away. However, that doesn't mean it can't be one, because of the disclaimer on the page. Built by ATI cards usually has better 2D quality and higher OC capability (that's from rumors I've heard, but my BBA LE can go 300/300 easily) compared to 3rd party, but almost all of the ATI cards nowadays are manufactured by Sapphire, so buying new Radeons from Sapphire is probably same as buying a BBA card.

Can someone tell me why some 8500LE card support dual CRT and some don't? Several places have explicitly said "Will not support dual CRT even with DVI > CRT converter"

Do none of the LE cards support it?
