hrmm.. I don't see ATI or NVIDIA with chips any newer than ones 3dfx has released.. odd.. so make that:

"ATI, NVIDIA, 3dfx with new chips 3dfx with a new interview also !"

LOL dave!

<< I don't see ATI or NVIDIA with chips any newer than ones 3dfx has released.. >>

well you have birthday today but that is no excuse (for me)!

3dfx was comming with bare hands to the comdex!
Ati and Nvidia were there with new products and a clear future/roadmap!
it seems now 3dfx has nothing the next (at least) 6-9 month until rampage is out
I HOPE we can see rampage but I dont believe it!

I'll have to agree with Hardware here.

3dfx - Voodoo 4 4500/Voodoo 5 5500

Technically, the GeForce 2 GTS is newer than the Voodoo 5 5500, b/c the V5 was supposed to be released around the time of the GeForce 256 DDR. After that we have GeForce 2 Pro, GeForce 2 MX, and GeForce 2 Go.

As for ATi, the Radeon is fresher silicon than the 5500. So that gives the Radeon 64DDR, 32MB DDR, 32 SDR, VE, and All-in-Wonder Radeon. All newer than the 5500.

So basically, how can anyone else NOT have anything newer than a year old 5500?

I agree with Dave on this one, IMO ATI and Nvidia haven't announced anything "new" at Comdex.

It's depending on what he means by that statement. If he means chips that have already been released, then nVidia and ATi have indeed released newer silicon.
