i had an ati mobility radeon in my inspiron 4100 - its 16MB ddr, right? It'll play games with a recommended 32MB video ram . . .

i never played quake 3 but Unreal I, Nolf and Max Payne ran fine on it . . . Q3 would be a "stretch" but would probably run . . . ;)

M3 and M4 are two very different chip generations, never mind the M6. If Max Payne and NOLF ran though, Q3 definitely will.

I have the 320M IGP with shared ram and a t-bred 2000+ in my 2yr old 900z and it is definitely able to play QIII@10x7 no problem. The 320/340M is faster than the old M3 rage based solution though if I don't miss my guess here, and I doubt his CPU is that fast either. I really can't say how the M3 does though so I'll stfu now.

I had a Mobility Radeon U1 32MB in my old Compaq notebook. It would run UT2k3 at 640x480, low quality settings at a playable framerate. I mainly played 2D RPGs like BG, PS:T, and IWD on it though. NWN ran alright most of the time when using low textures and 6x4 resolution.

Your mobility Radeon - 16MB sdr or DDR?

Your TFT - VGA or SVGA (what's the res?)

it's gonna depend on these 2 variables . . . your P3 and system RAM is sufficient.

(mine was a 933mhz P4-M and the 16MB DDR mobility Radeon with a 10x7 LCD . . . ran NOLF/Max Payne and Unreal fine . . . and i almost forgot - Star Trek Voyager: Elite Forces . . . that's based on the Q3 engine [i believe - only requires a 8MBmin-16MBrecommended video card])

you should be fine!
(unless your tft is hi-res)

Display Tech TFT Active Matrix
External Video Resolution 1600 x 1200

Display 15 in. TFT Active Matrix

Does that tell you?

Yes . . .

. . . unfortunately for you . . .

it's gonna SUCK. :p

You will NEVER be able to play at your LCD's native resolution . . . 16x12 will "destroy" your FPS. You'll have to try 8x6 and put up with the blurriness . . .
