ATI issues

I seem to be gettin the same error every time I play counterstrike, if I alt tab or change vid settings. I also get a different error every time I try to bench with Aquamark3. Just wondering if anyone had these issues and resolved them with new drivers or what. I have Catalyst 5.13 drivers I also tried it with the newest Catalyst drivers. The error from counterstrike is "fail to lock index buffer in cmeshdx8::lockindexbuffer" I know its common but I refuse to wait for a patch to fix it there has to be some way around it. I knew I shoulda stayed with Nvidia.

If you swapped an NVIDIA card for an ATI one, there's a good chance your drivers got screwed up in the process unless you used Driver Cleaner or the like. Wipe your drivers with DC3, then reinstall DirectX and your video drivers. Should clean up any issues from screwy driver entries.

I get the same errors on my card. I think the HL2 error is related to the newer drivers, and I dont know of a fix for it. For AQ3 you have to download a patched dll file to replace the one that came with AQ3 - that fixes the crash (I forgot what the file is called). However, AQ3 is mostly cpu limited on moder high end cards so it's no longer a relevant benchmark. Likewise, I dont change my HL2 settings often, so it's not a big deal to me.

Well its new rig so the nvidia drivers arent a issue. I didnt know about the AQ3 Dll but Ill look for it, I just like it for a quick bench for cpu and gpu. The CSS upsets me because I alt-tab out of it alot and it does it practically every time. I did hear it is related to an update done in October, I was just hoping there was a driver or something that would fix it.

direcpll.dll is the aquamark3 fix, although i havent been able to find it anywhere since no one likes aquamark anymore.
