ATI issue

Hey guys

how can I tell if a card is really a Radeon 9800 pro or some other ati card such as 9600 or 9700 or even a regular 9800.

I'm assuming you didn't get a true retail ATI card? There's no screenprinting on the PCB saying what it is?

EDIT: If all else fails, remove the HSF from the card. The chip itself should say...

it is a ati retail card i bought from some one else

unless someone hacked the bios on a cheaper card to make it show up as a 9800pro...

Run a benchmark and compare your numbers to others.
