ATI HDTV adapter question

I have ati 9800np. I made a mistake by buying VGA to component adapter. It didnt work on the 9800 only 8500. I had to get a VGA to DVI adapter for it to work on my mitsubishi HDTV. However, the picture didnt fit completely into the screen. Also, I was only able to 480p on my HDTV. Does anybody have this problem? Im not too concerned about the partically overcropped picture. I am concern about not getttin 1080i on my HDTV tho. Any ideas? Would getting a DVI to componet cure this problem?

I have the 9600 Pro with the DVI to Component adapter

It is on my Toshiba 57HX81 and running at 1920x1080

It is cropped at about 3-5% all around. This is great for movies and games, but bad for web stuff (Can't see left edge and complete taskbar). However it fills the screen.
