ATI HD 3870 X2 for sale

holy crap! That better kick some serious ass to be able to buy 2 and 1/3 regular HD 3870s.

Yeah, that is a little steep... It needs to come down about $100...

does this even beat a single 8800GTS v3?
it still has all the drawbacks of crossfire after all...

We will know tomorrow when the NDA lifts.

It does make sense for it to cost more then two 3870 because it gives lower power consumption and takes less space...
It doesn't make sense for it to cost more then two 3870 because it is much cheaper to make.

So all in all its a give and take. What I really wanna see is performance.

If the performance is not up to snuff, I do see the price dropping below that of 2x 3870. After all, if you have that much money to dump on a video card, you'll probably be able to spill just as much on an SLI motherboard.

I am sorry if this has been asked before but I've been busy as of late.. 😛

Is this board utilizing CrossFire on-board, just like SLI on-board with 7950GX2? Or are they using a different technology that makes the two GPUs on-board transparent to games and OS? (In other words, no need for special drivers or profiles)
