ATI Has Kickbutt 2D

Many of you may disagree with me and yesterday I would've too. I am having some issues with the DVI port on my monitor and I switched to VGA. At first I thought it was really blurry, but after hitting auto adjust 2-3 times it looks EXACTLY the same as DVI. Really, I cann switch from VGA to DVI and back and see NO difference.

This is all on an ATI x800XL.
ATI keeps up their reputation of having excellent VGA. My 6800 was much blurrier with VGA even after auto adjusting.

I've never noticed blurriness on any of my cards (radeon 9100, x800xl, geforce fx5200, 6800gt) and I always use vga because I have a CRT.

quality depends on the particular LCD too. as well as the analog cables shielding.

but this is good news, but nothing surprising. ati always had the edge in 2d.

i wouldnt run analog on a dvi panel anyway.. so its kind of a shame the advantage is a bit moot now.

but for those stuck on CRTs and use ATI, this is is good news still

Even if VGA retains "focus" and clear picture, doesnt DVI make the colours more vibrant?

No, it looks the same unless you turn on digital vibrance. I think the digital vibrace looks weird anyway
