Howdy,
I have the chance to purchase this card, but is it any good for playing games like doom 3 and hl2? I know its a cad, etc card, but will it be any good on gaming?
Thanks

There's no such thing as a FireGL 9700 - I assume you mean the FireGL X1-256p. (9700 Pro based)

They'll be just fine for gaming. You can toss either the reference FireGL drivers or the Omega drivers on it and play to your heart's content.

No you can't. Are you speaking from experience? If so what driver set are you using?

I don't game on my X1 128. It does a decent job on small to mid-sized architectural projects. Any bigger than that and you need something much more serious.

FireGL T2, takes Omegas, Cats (see below) and certified FGL (current) just fine.

Forcing Catalyst driverset to work on FireGL
FireGL 8.062
