SharkyExtreme.com: Interview with ATI's Ben Bar Haim
our readers, are the ones asking the questions. In the spotlight today is Ben Bar Haim, ATI's VP of Software, who will be answering your questions - which mainly focus on ATI drivers, utilities, and software.

A snippet re: ATI drivers:
ATI's XP driver is the most stable, 3D-enabled graphics driver in the industry. We subject this driver to a wide range of tests, including: Functionality, Performance, Stability over time (so called "stress"), Usability, Compatibility with a variety of motherboards, applications, components; and, Certification requirements.
You may have heard of the Microsoft Online Crash Analysis (OCA) database. This information is harvested by Microsoft and shared with us and we are very pleased with our current position.

I used to be one of the biggest bashers of ATI drivers, but now that I have a Radeon 9700 Pro, I can glady say that they stable and bug free.

:Q

It musta been those AIW Radeon 7500 drivers that sent you over to the nVidia "camp". 😉

😀

I used to feel that way about my Rage Fury 32 (and even the Radeon 64 VIVO for a month or two) . . .

ATI drivers are very good. However their claim is a little exaggerated. I am running both a GF4 and 9500 Pro. The 9500/Cat 3.0-2.5 has one glitch in Porsche Unleashed the Detonator doesn't. Guess ATI doesn't play that game!

Of course the Ati guy is not going to admit to any driver problems and who in their right mind in his position would? Besides, I have a 9500>haxzored to a 9700+ and I never have any problems so it must be true. 🙂
