ATI Driver Question

Never used ATI video cards in the past and just installed a 9600 nonpro (will be installing the Pro version after the weekend) with the CD Rom drivers. Not even really sure which driver came with the video card but which driver is recommended right now for ATI cards? I'm assuming it's a Catalyst but are there some versions that are better than others? Any that have a reputation for causing problems? I'd appreciate knowing which version I should go with off the guru3d site.
 
I would use the latest official 4.2s(out today) from ATi`s website link .

Btw when I install any new video card,I always just download install the latest official version,I never bother with the CD drivers since they are nearly always out of date.
