ATI Driver Problem

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I keep having a problem where if unless i use ATI driver version 9.7 that came with windows i get display locking up issues.

Basically if i am just browsing the web or doing almost anything i will get the video display driver resetting. It locks up the screen for a few seconds then resets and all is good for a little bit. I was hoping 9.12 would fix this but I am still getting it.

Anyone else having this issue? It is seriously leaning me towards an nvidia card because of these driver problems.

I have a 2900XT and about to purchase a 5770 but dont want to if the driver issues will continue
 
download something like driver cleaner, boot in safemode, run it, reboot, install 9.12. see if that fixes it.
 
Never rush to the front of the line to buy newly released Software. Windows especially.

Try installing Drivers without CCC, try Updating Win7, etc.

Did you Clean Install Win7 or Upgrade?

C'mon san, having windows 7 obviously has nothing to do with it...
